JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): A Jeffersonville City Police Officer was involved in an accident Monday afternoon. 29-year-old Robert Grinesteff II was responding to a bank robbery alarm, driving his fully marked police car, with the emergency lights and siren on, east on 10^th Street. When he approached the intersection of Main Street, Officer Grinesteff crashed into a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Mary Thornton, of Charlestown. The crash happened at the intersection in the lane of the police car. It is unknown at this time if the other vehicle was making a left turn or crossing 10^th Street going north on Main. Both drivers were taken to a hospital in Louisville, complaining of pain. The investigation is continuing.
