Ivy Tech Cuts Administrators in Northern Indiana

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ A report says six top Ivy Tech Community College regional administrators are losing their jobs in a merger of the college's north central and northwest regions and two others have retired.

The South Bend Tribune reported Wednesday it has learned through a public records request that the eight departures include three vice chancellors and five directors of offices handling financial aid, marketing and communications, and other responsibilities.

The administrators whose jobs are being eliminated were notified in person and received a letter informing them that their last day is July 15. Each is being offered a severance package.

Ivy Tech is considering closing about a quarter of its 72 locations to close a $68 million budget shortfall. Trustees last month approved raising tuition each of the next four semesters.
