Lucretia Cardenas of “Fort Wayne Business Weekly” joined Charly Butcher on “Fort Wayne’s Morning News” to talk about topics in this week’s issue:

1) IPFW governance stalemate – a Business Weekly Analysis
The image of a tombstone engraved with a portrait of a mastodon and the accompanying headline, “Death of a university?” in the Communicator, the student newspaper at Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne, summed up the feelings of many on campus to proposed changes in its governance.
But it may be the governance plan itself that is on life support.
2) Construction recovery helps pickup sales
The last couple of years have been good ones for full-size pickup truck sales industry wide, and last year was particularly good for those made by General Motors Co.
The subject commands a little more attention than usual in northeast Indiana because GM’s Fort Wayne Assembly Plant is among the region’s largest employers.
3) Joint ventures: As orthopedic procedures increase at area hospitals, quality control remains paramount
Complications from orthopedic surgeries are within federal standards at most northeast Indiana hospitals. The region’s hospitals share a common quality thread in having two specialist groups operate in Fort Wayne: Orthopedics NorthEast and Fort Wayne Orthopedics.
