The Indiana Department of Transportation has requested federal approval to change the name of the stretch of Interstate 164 in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties. WFIE-TV reports signs are expected to be installed over several months starting next fall.
The conversion will require updating approximately 70 large, green interstate signs at or near exits. Smaller blue signs posted at bridges and every two tenths of a mile also will be changed.
Exit numbers and mile markers won’t be affected.
Work is underway on the fourth section of the I-69 expansion between the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center and Bloomington.
