CARLISLE, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say an inmate has died after being stabbed several times at a southwestern Indiana prison.
The Wabash Valley Correctional Facility says 25-year-old Kango Douglas died Sunday at an Indianapolis hospital where he was taken after being attacked Friday in a recreation yard. Officials say Douglas was stabbed in the face, neck and head.
The Tribune-Star and WTHI-TV report the suspected attacker was identified and placed in restrictive housing at the maximum-security prison near Carlisle, about 30 miles south of Terre Haute.
State records show Douglas was serving a 55-year sentence for 2008 convictions in Marion County for rape, criminal deviate conduct and burglary.
