Indianapolis TV Stations Making Network Swap

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A swap of network programming will be made between Indianapolis television stations with the start of the new year.

Officials at WISH-TV say it will air prime-time shows from the CW network after CBS programs switch to rival station WTTV starting Jan. 1.

To viewers, it will appear as if the stations traded networks as WTTV has aired CW shows for several years. The Indianapolis Star reports CW programming was set for a secondary WTTV channel that isn't carried by major satellite TV providers and some area cable companies.

CBS announced in August that it was ending its nearly six-decade affiliation with WISH, which is adding four hours of daily newscasts to its schedule.

WISH General Manager Les Vann says the CW programming will attract new audiences for its newscasts.
