Indianapolis Man Charged in Dog’s Oven Death

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): An Indianapolis man faces felony charges alleging that he killed a friend's dog by putting the canine in a sweltering oven.

WRTV reports (http://bit.ly/1r7p5U9 ) that 37-year-old Joel Clark has been charged with killing a domestic animal and torturing or mutilating a vertebrate animal. He remained jailed Thursday at the Marion County Jail.

Prosecutors say Clark was on house arrest and living with two friends. Court documents say that on May 18 one of the friends found the Miniature Pinscher dead in the bottom of a trash can and red dog hair on a cookie sheet and pizza pan in the oven.

Court documents say a necropsy found that the dog's whiskers were burned, it had burn marks on its legs and feet and blood on its snout and mouth.
