Indiana Transplant Recipient Riding in Rose Parade

NEW PALESTINE, Ind. (AP) – A suburban Indianapolis couple plans to participate in a parade ahead of the Rose Bowl for their first vacation in about three decades.

Julia Rejer and her husband, Randy, of New Palestine will ride the Donate Life float in the parade before Thursday's game in Pasadena, California. The mother of two who's twice been an organ donor recipient has been ill for many of the last 30 years with a rare bile duct disease. It's called primary sclerosing cholangitis.

Rejer tells the Daily Reporter (http://bit.ly/1y28zO1 ) she didn't think she would see her children graduate high school, but received two liver transplants over the years.

The 59-year-old says she is grateful and tries to enjoy each moment.

Her husband says they take things one day at a time
