Indiana Toll Road Bans Certain Trailers Ahead of Snow

GRANGER, Ind. (AP) _ The Indiana Toll Road says it will temporarily ban all triple-trailer trucks because of expected snow in northern Indiana.

The Toll Road is banning all triple-trailers, long-doubles, including steel haulers, and high-profile oversize permit loads from Portage to Angola starting at 7 a.m. Saturday and continuing until 1 a.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for northern Indiana, saying snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are possible. The weather service says rain may briefly mix with the snow Saturday morning. The weather service says there is the potential for difficult driving conditions because of snow-covered roads and reduced visibility.
