Indiana State Police Taking Part in Sex Offender Sweep

INDIANA, (WOWO): Local officials are taking part in a nationwide sex offender sweep this month.

The sweep has been dubbed “Operation Lost Innocence” and already several arrests have been made.

Officers from Indiana State Police, LaPorte County, Michigan City Police, and the U.S. Marshals targeted over 85 sex offenders with criminal pasts connected to kids. Of those, they found that six were breaking the law and will be facing more charges.

So far, officials are pleased with the outcome since more than 90% of those targeted are in compliance with their sentences.
