Indiana residents have until Tuesday to register to vote

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO/AP): Indiana residents hoping to vote in the upcoming election must register to vote by the end of the day Tuesday.

The deadline to register to vote in to Nov. 8 election is at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. Residents can still register online at IndianaVoters.com.

Indiana’s election ballot includes the presidential race, the Indiana governor’s race, a U.S. Senate race and numerous other contests.

Voters who are registered to vote can begin casting early votes in-person on Wednesday at county offices. They can also mail in absentee ballots, which are available from county election offices.

Those completed mail-in ballots must then be returned to county officials by the Oct. 31 deadline.

Below are directions on how to register to vote.
Online

To register online, go to Indiana Voter’s website. There you can follow simple step-by-step instructions.

If you register online, you’ll need an Indiana driver’s license or state ID card number.

By mail
To register by mail, download the Indiana voter registration sheet, which is located at Indiana Voter’s website. Residents can also call 1-800-622-4941 to have one mailed to them.

Residents should send the completed form to:

Indianapolis, IN 46204

The form must be postmarked Oct. 11. Hoosier voters can also mail the form to the county voter registration office.

In Person
Get the Indiana voter registration form at the Indiana Election Division, your county voter registration officer, Bureau of Motor Vehicle license branch, public assistance office or a local public library.

Then fill out the form and return it to your county voter registration office.
