Indiana Pizzeria Raises Over Half A Million Dollars, And Growing

WALKERTON, Ind. (WOWO): An on-line fundraiser for a small pizza shop in Walkerton has raised hover a half a million dollars in support of the owners.

Memories Pizza closed their business on April 1st after they became under fire surrounding an interview with a local TV station. When asked if they would support a same-sex wedding, owner Crystal O'Connor said they haven't denied service to anyone, but would not cater a same-sex wedding.

People reacted with death threats and even arson threats towards the business and the owners. The day after the report from the local TV station, the business decided to close because of the backlash.

As of 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, less than 48 hours after on-line fundraising started for Memories Pizza, the GoFundMe page raised over $500,000 and continues to grow.

It's hard to tell if the business will re-open, and at this time the owners are unsure if that will ever happen.
