Indiana Man gets 40 Years for Crash that Killed 3

BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) – A 33-year-old Indiana man will spend four decades in jail for a drunken driving accident that killed three people.

Kyle R. Hutton was convicted last month of three counts of causing death when operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent of 0.15 percent or more. The (Bloomington) Herald Times (http://bit.ly/1EslSZN ) reports he was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in jail followed by two years of supervised probation.

His wife, Morgan Hutton, and his friends, Dasan Spires and Laura Duncan, died in the July 2012 crash. Prosecutors argued the two couples had been drinking all day and Hutton had been driving when the fatal accident happened.

Hutton claimed his wife was actually behind the wheel.
