Indiana Man Faces Attempted Murder in Car Attack

WINCHESTER, Ind. (AP): An eastern Indiana man faces attempted murder charges for allegedly using his car to run down three men in an alley.
 
       Thirty-six-year-old Ricardo Mendoza of Union City is being held at the Randolph County Jail on a $300,000 bond. He faces three counts of attempted murder.
 
       Authorities say Mendoza used his car to strike three men early Sunday in a Union City alley about 75 miles northeast of Indianapolis
 
       All three men were hospitalized and one was airlifted to a trauma center in Dayton, Ohio.
 
       The Star Press reports police found Mendoza at a nearby house after the incident and he told officers two men with knife had tried to attack him.
 
       Police say the attacks may have stemmed from an argument in or outside a Union City tavern.
