Indiana Lawmakers Vote ‘Yes’ on Shipping Wine to your Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): On Wednesday, the State House voted 91-7 on a bill that would allow Indiana residents to have wine shipped to their homes without face-to-face interaction.

According to the Journal Gazette, current law requires face-to-face transaction at a winery before the wine can be shipped.

Indiana would join 41 other states that already allow wine to be shipped without face-to-face interaction, if the bill is passed.

As part of the bill, small wineries would also be able to get a direct wine shipping permit.

The only representatives that didn't support the bill were Ben Smaltz of Auburn and David Wolkins of Warsaw.

The legislation still needs to go through the senate.
