Indiana Lawmakers Sworn in on Organization Day

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana lawmakers have taken their oaths of office but their real work won't begin until January.

The House and Senate met Tuesday for their Organization Day to take care of formalities before they begin their 2015 legislative session in earnest in about two months.

Bosma said Tuesday that ethics reforms _ planned in response to a scandal involving Republican Rep. Eric Turner _ could extend to the executive branch, where employees have been routinely granted ethics waivers without external review.

Bosma and Long both welcomed strengthened Republican majorities following their election victories earlier this month.
