Indiana Event to Raise Funds for Trauma Kits

FISHERS, Ind. (AP) – An Indiana fire department has announced it will partner with the local school district to purchase hundreds of trauma kits for classrooms.

Fishers Fire Department and the Hamilton Southeastern School District will host a benefit event at a miniature golf course in September. The “Putt-ing Out the Fire” event features unlimited rounds of miniature golf, a dunk tank, kids area and food.

All of the proceeds will be used to purchase more than 1,000 trauma kits. The fire department estimates that it will cost $65,000 to outfit every classroom.

The trauma kits include dressings to clot wounds and other advanced medical supplies that aren't found in a standard first aid kit.
