INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana Department of Education technicians dealing with the second hacking this week of the agency's website are closely monitoring the site after tweaking it in hopes of preventing a repeat attack.

Department spokesman Daniel Altman said Friday the agency's technicians installed a patch within the website's content management system late Thursday afternoon intended to thwart hackers. The website was restored about 3 hours after staffers took it down following Thursday's attack.

The website was also down temporarily Monday following the first hacking. Altman says both times the hackers posted a message claiming they were part of the Nigeria Cyber Army, but no agency data was compromised in either attack.

He says staffers are watching the website and making sure all its features are up-to-date.
