Indiana County Official Loses Job, Gets it Back

DELPHI, Ind. (AP) _ A northern Indiana county official whose job was eliminated last week has it back after the county's council members reversed their earlier decision.

The Carroll County Council had voted 3-1 last week to defund the county coordinator position held by Vicky Snipes and eliminate that post.

Carroll County Councilwoman Nancy Cripe tells the Pharos-Tribune she and Councilman Bill Northcutt were not present for that vote.

The county coordinator position was revisited at Tuesday's council meeting to allow those who weren't present for the first vote to weigh in. The council voted 6-0 to reinstate Snipe's position after rejecting a proposal to rehire her for just six months.</div>

Commissioner Pat Clawson says Snipes has done “excellent'' work and the council would be in “a real tight spot'' without her.
