I&M is Asking Local School Kids to Name Falcon Babies

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): Moxie and Jamie, the Falcon parents nesting atop the One Summit Square building, are the proud parents of three baby chicks that recently hatched.  Moxie, the two-year-old mother, and Jamie, the three-year-old father, are awaiting the hatching of a fourth egg.

Indiana Michigan Power is turning to Allen County classrooms, 5th grade and under, for their help in naming the chicks. The sex of the chicks will not be known prior to the banding so keep this in mind when submitting names.

Falcon followers can check for a peak of the new baby birds at I&M’s FalconCam online at http://www.aep.com/environment/falconcam/ where an image of the falcon’s nest is updated every 15 seconds.

Interested classes should submit one falcon name by email to Erica Putt (ehputt@aep.com) by Monday, May 13th.  Please be sure to include the name of the school, the grade level of the class, and the teacher’s contact information.
