FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) has added several amenities to the Rivergreenway along Spy Run Extended following the completion of the Powering Up Central transmission project.

I&M installed a bicycle repair station, located west of Parnell Avenue, that includes tools and an air pump secured to the stand. The station includes the tools needed for basic repairs, such as changing a flat and adjusting brakes and derailleurs.

The company also added two new benches, planted 10 trees and spread more than 88 pounds of pollinator seed to grow grasses and flowers.

The 10 Autumn Brilliance trees were planted near the entrance to Johnny Appleseed Park. They’re named for their colorful fall foliage. In the spring, the trees will burst with white flowers.

These additions are in part with the Powering Up Central project, which enhances the area’s transmission system. The project included rebuilding a transmission line along Spy Run Extended and the St. Joseph River.
