GARY, Ind. (AP) – A steel tube manufacturer has announced plans to move operations from Illinois to Indiana by the end of the year.
The (Munster) Times reports T&B Tube Co. is leaving its 89,000-square-foot facility in South Holland, Illinois, to expand at a 196,000-square-foot building in Gary, Indiana.
Gary Economic Development Corp. executive director Bo Kemp says the company has been awarded an incentive package totaling about $2 million from the city, state and NIPSCO. The company also will receive discounts from NIPSCO's economic development program, and up to $950,000 in tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. if it meets goals to hire Indiana residents.
T&B Tube Co. has said it hopes to create as many as 100 new jobs over the next two years.
The company expects to spend $5.6 million on its relocation.
