Hudson Woman Arrested After Pursuit, Kids in Car

A Hudson woman was arrested late last night on multiple charges, including four counts of neglect of a dependent, after leading an Indiana State Trooper on a short pursuit in northeast LaGrange County.

Last night at around 11:00 PM, the Indiana State Police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 650 N near County Road 1100 E. The driver of the vehicle accelerated and sped off. During the short pursuit, the passenger of the vehicle was said to have been throwing items out of his window.

At around 11:05 p.m., the vehicle finally stopped at SR-120 and CR-475-E, after having driven on a flat tire. The driver, 29-year-old Jilyan Janelle Snyder, who was taken into custody without incident, had her four children ages 6-13 in the vehicle with her at the time. Their custody was transferred to a family member and an adult male passenger was not charged.  An unknown amount of methamphetamine was reportedly located inside of Snyder’s purse at the time of her arrest.

Snyder was taken to and incarcerated in the LaGrange County Jail on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent (four counts), resisting law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine. She also had arrest warrants issued for her out of Noble County for possession of methamphetamine and visiting a common nuisance.
