FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): A Fort Wayne hospice organization is raising money to fund a community grief center.
The group called Visiting Nurse says it provided grief counseling to more than 850 family members of patients in hospice care during 2012. It offers several programs for those in need of grief support.
Visiting Nurse has raised $4.6 million toward its $5.5 million goal.
Once complete, the center will offer group and individual counseling for free. Visiting Nurse expects it to open in about a year.
One of the programs the center will offer is designed for caregivers who are adjusting to life following the death of a loved one.
