INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Indiana Guard leaders are honoring one of their own.

Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Rodney Harp of Evansville was presented with a Purple Heart Medal in ceremonies at the Indiana War Memorial.

Harp was honored after he was injured in a mortar attack while serving in Afghanistan.

He was assisting locals in Sabari District on a farming mission. The Guard deployed units to help with humanitarian missions to train and equip Afghans build sustainable crops and livestock.
