Hoosier First Responders Training to Handle Aftermath of an Explosion

INDIANA (WOWO): Today and tomorrow, Hoosier first responders are training to react to the aftermath of an explosion. This comes on the heels of the explosion at the Boston Marathon on Monday.

More than 30 students are participating in a medical preparedness to bombing incidents course at the Brownsburg Fire Territory. It’s designed to give the knowledge necessary to enhance the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical response and clinical care following a bombing incident.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security provides training year-round to firefighters, law enforcement, emergency management, and emergency medical services personnel.
