Homestead Spartans Win IHSAA 4A State Championship

 

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The Homestead Spartans are state champions. 

It came down to overtime, but Homestead edged Evansville in the ISHAA 4A Indiana State Championship game by a score of 91-90.  The game went to overtime after Homestead came from behind multiple times in the 4th.  Going into the last quarter, the game was tied 54-54.  

All five Spartan starters scored double figures in the game.  In the end, both teams finish 29-2.  The win for Homestead ends a 41 year drought since winning the championship in 1974.
