Hit-And-Skip Man Caught, Arrested

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): New developments are emerging from a hit-and-run near the Georgetown North Shopping Center.

Lost month, a man flagged down police to alert them of a woman that was hit by a car.  They determined 25 year old Haley Marie Nancarrow was walking on Maplecrest Road when she was hit by a vehicle.  She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police began to search for the man that flagged down police and announced today they found 84 year old Howard Lininger of New Haven and arrested him Monday night.

Lininger is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death, a Level 5 Felony charge.

The accident happened just after 10 p.m. on November 18th, 2014.  Police received calls about a woman lying on the side of the road. They found a side mirror at the scene, apparently from the vehicle that struck her. The vehicle was an SUV, and police say tips from the public helped to identify the suspect.
