Hit and Run Investigation Lands Two New Haven Men in Jail

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): An investigation into a hit and run accident resulted in the seizure of over five pounds of marijuana and landed two New Haven men in jail.

On Wednesday afternoon New Haven police were following up on a report of a hit and run accident into a street sign at a residence in the Tanglewood Housing addition. 

When an officer started talking to one of the residents, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana and the resident slammed the door shut causing injury to the officer. 

Once more police crews arrived on the scene, the two residents of that home surrendered. 

Upon further investigation, officers found over five pounds of marijuana, heroin, ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.

23-year-old Blake Colbourne and 29-year-old John Lopez were charged and taken to the Allen County Jail for the following charges: 

Colbourne arrested for:

 

– Possession of Marijuana (Felony)

            – Dealing in Marijuana (Felony)

            – Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony) (Two Counts)

            – Battery to a Police Officer (Felony)

 

Lopez arrested for:

 

– Possession of Marijuana (Felony)

            – Dealing in Marijuana (Felony)

            – Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony) (Two Counts)
