Hicksville Company Fined by OSHA

HICKSVILLE, Ohio (WOWO): An area company has been hit with a fine from OSHA.



Hicksville, Ohio's FWT has been leveled a $45,500 penalty connected to a pair of workplace accidents in February and March.

According to an OSHA press release, the incidents were preventable with machine guards. Without the protection, serious amputation risks were present.



In February, an employee had his hands crushed by machinery. In the March case, another employee was pinned between a telecommunication pole and the frame of a pressing machine.



FWT employes about 170 people in Hicksville and builds communication towers.
