Head-on ATV Crash Sends 14-Year-Old to the Hospital

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Conservation Officers were on the scene of an ATV accident that happened Sunday afternoon in Kosciusko County.

According to a press release, it happened around 2:30 p.m. on Country Club Drive when 14-year-old Thomas Lemon of Warsaw was driving the ATV on private property. He collided head-on with an ATV that was driven by his sister, 12-year-old Sadie Lemon.

The crash happened as they were both coming to the top of the hill. Neither driver could see far enough in front of them to avoid the collision.

Thomas was thrown over the handlebars of the ATV, causing a serious laceration to his knee. He was wearing a helmet which prevented serious injuries.

He was taken to the Kosciusko Community hospital. Sadie Lemon and her passenger were unhurt in the crash.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind all ATV operators to always wear a helmet and ride responsibly.
