The state’s Recycling Market Development Program has been given the green light when it comes to authorizing the release off $500,000 in grant funds to help recycling businesses.
The grants would also help boost economic development here in the Hoosier state.
Recycling businesses have until June 3, 2013, to apply for the grants that are aimed at helping purchase equipment for manufacturing recycled materials into new products.
“Providing financial assistance to recycling businesses makes good sense for the environment and the economy,” said Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Commissioner Thomas Easterly. “We are pleased to offer grants to help businesses that are giving a second life to materials.”
The Recycling Market Development Board will make final funding determinations of eligible projects by August.
