Greenwood Airport Hopes to Attract Final Four Travelers

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) – Greenwood airport officials hope a renovated terminal, a new communications system and low jet fuel prices will attract private jets bringing fans to the Final Four in Indianapolis next month.

The Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1GzqFYz ) reports the Greenwood Municipal Airport hasn't received any reservations for landings tied to the men's college basketball tournament yet. But airport manager Lori Curless says she expects them once the matchups are set later this month.

The airport hopes to benefit from a new partnership with the Visit Indy tourism bureau that allows Greenwood to be included on lists and marketing materials for the tournament.

About 70,000 people are expected to attend the games on April 4 and 6.

The airport saw an increase in landings in 2012, when Indianapolis hosted the Super Bowl.
