FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A pair of area nonprofits will be splitting almost $3 million in Regional Cities grant funding from the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority.

The Journal Gazette reports the Authority approved $1.7 million for the Embassy Theatre‘s $10 million renovation project that will include remodeling part of the Indiana Hotel next door, to create a two-story ballroom, rooftop garden plaza and improved public access.

$947,000 will go to the YMCA of DeKalb County, which will put the money toward building a multi-million dollar youth development complex.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation still has to approve both grants.
