Grand Jury Indicts Former Van Wert County, Ohio Dog Warden

VAN WERT COUNTY, OHIO (WOWO): Former Van Wert County Dog Warden, Rich Strunkenberg, has been indicted on four felony charges of animal cruelty, that according to our partners in news at 21 Alive.


Struckenberg had been placed on leave after a tip to the Van Wert County Sheriff's Department uncovered serious wrong-doing at the animal shelter.The County Commissioners voted to remove Strunkenberg on the following disciplinary offenses:


 – Failure to supply adequate food and water to the dogs. 

 – Failure to adequately clean the kennel and cage areas.

 – Failed to secure dead animals in the facility.

 – Failed to provide adequate care and attention to animals.
