Governor Pence Comments on House Passage of Voluntary Pre-K Program

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Thursday afternoon, Governor Mike Pence commended the Indiana House of Representatives for advancing the voluntary Pre-K Program. The legislation passed the House by a vote of 87-9.

“Every child deserves to start school ready to learn, and I am grateful for the overwhelming, bipartisan support in the Indiana House to advance a voluntary pre-K program for our low-income kids,” said Pence. “I am especially grateful to Speaker Brian Bosma and Representative Bob Behning for their efforts to marshal support for this important initiative, which will open the doors of opportunity for Indiana’s most vulnerable students. Our administration looks forward to continuing to work with members of the Senate as this bill moves forward.”
