FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence has officially kicked off a new campaign to attract workers to manufacturing jobs.

The regional campaign is called the Made By Me initiative and is designed to attract students to careers in manufacturing and technical jobs.

The program will target guidance counselors and use a website to provide detailed information on careers.

“Indiana is a national leader when it comes to manufacturing, and the industry in northeast Indiana in particular is expected to grow by thousands of jobs in the next decade,” Governor Pence said.

“The time is now to ensure our students have the information they need to make informed decisions about their careers and their futures, and I believe the MADEBYME campaign will do just that.

Experts say northeast Indiana is primed for growth with jobs that pay thousands more the median annual income. The average of those jobs is more than 60 thousand a year.
