Gov. Pence Looking For More State Flexibility

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Governor Mike Pence has joined 24 other governors across the nation to urge congress for more legislative flexibility in their home states.

The letter was addressed to Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. He was looking for more control in important state issues like education, healthcare, infrastructure, energy, environment and employment.

The letter says, “We are convinced that if states would be provided greater flexibility and control of funds and regulatory authority over a multitude of programs, we would be able to better and more efficiently serve the needs of our citizens.” Governor Pence said, ““I am confident that the cure for what ails this country will come more from our state capitals than it will from our nation’s capital.”
