GM Announces Power Steering Recall for 81,000 Cars

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): General Motors announced another recall for more than 81,000 cars.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, GM is recalling 2006 and 2007 Chevy Malibus and Malibu Maxxes, along with Pontiac G6's for problems that may cause the power steering to fail.

An alert should flash in the car's information center to let drivers know if the power steering is gone. The defect would make it very difficult to steer.

GM dealers will fix the sensor assembly in the power steering system. So far, there's only been one crash linked to the recall with no injuries.
