FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two new additions to the Genealogy Center in Fort Wayne are making its debuts Thursday.

The Discovery Center will have a variety of uses including monthly genealogy programs, technology sessions and other sessions that will help people search their family’s history, according to the Allen County Public Library.

The room will seat 240 people in theater-style seating and about 100 people in classroom-style seating and will feature the latest in sound and computer technology.

People can use the other addition, the Life Stories Center, to record their family’s history in a recording unit. The library hopes to archive and share the interviews through its website.

The new Genealogy Center additions will make their debut at a grand opening at 11:40 a.m. Thursday.
