FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If someone claiming to represent Fort Wayne Community Schools knocks on your door this week, don’t be surprised.

Teams of volunteers are going all over town to promote the district’s schools and answer questions about the district, especially their new Family and Community Engagement Center downtown.

The Journal Gazette reports volunteers are picking a different part of town to focus on each day, covering the far north side yesterday, the Snider area today, the north side tomorrow, the south side Thursday, and finally the Wayne area on Friday.

The district tells the paper more than 200 staffers and student athletes will have volunteered for the effort by the end of the week.
