FWCS Superintendent Declines Pay Raise

The superintendent of the Fort Wayne Community School district has turned down a base salary raise, but accepted a $9,000 incentive payment. Our news partners at 21 Alive tell us the School Board approved the incentives for Dr. Robinson last night. However, the superintendent waived the $5,400 maximum increase in base pay for the 2012-13 school year saying it would’ve been a poor reflection of her leadership. She said she didn’t think the timing was right for the raise and explained that changes would be forthcoming to teacher evaluations where pay increases will be based on evaluations. That process, she says, has not been finished, and thought it would be “disingenuous” for her to accept a raise at this time.
