FWCS Releases Plan for Missed School Days

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The FWCS school board met Monday and approved a plan to make up missed days as a result of severe weather this winter. The plan is to make up 4 of the 12 missed days by extending the school days 1 hour from March 3rd through April 11th, with the exception of Friday, March 28th, the day before spring break. The state issued a waiver for two of the days. One day was made up on January 31.  As for the 5 other days? Two will be made up in 2 make-up days in May, and the rest will be made up in June. Officials say the last day for students is scheduled for Friday, June 6. In a release being sent to parents, school officials address questions regarding their decision not to use spring break to make up the days, as well as online courses.
