FWCS denies online threat against school

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A threat on social media led to a scare for some parents of Fort Wayne Community Schools students this morning.

A threat against a school referred to “SHS” had some worrying that it was a reference to a Fort Wayne school, possibly South Side High School or Snyder High School, but the district announced on Twitter this morning that it was actually referencing a school in Ohio.

That being said, the district announced it’s working with police and attempting to be “extra vigilant”, just in case.

It’s the second time this week a post on social media has led to local fears, as a post made about about Huntington High School Monday night turned out to be referring to a school in Kentucky, not Indiana.

You’re absolutely right. Will amend the story to reflect that possibility as well.
