FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Money for adult education and iPads for teachers were the two top items on the agenda for the Fort Wayne Community Schools board Monday night.

The board approved two grants for adult education at their regular meeting, according to the Journal Gazette. $50,000 will go toward teaching English in the areas of naturalization, civics, US history and government, while $962,000 will go toward offering adult education classes and programs for expectant mothers.

Both grants come from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The district will also spend almost $404,000 to replace more than a thousand iPads for teachers and administrators at each of the district’s elementary schools. Their old computers will be resold.
