FW Police Make Arrest in Goshen Avenue Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police detectives have made an arrest in Tuesday morning’s shooting that was reported in the 1300 block of Goshen Avenue, south of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. 


21-year-old Anthony Jackson Jr. of Fort Wayne, has been arrested and is facing aggravated battery and burglary charges.


Jackson was wounded in the incident, but he's been treated and released from the hospital. Jackson is currently in the Allen County Jail.


The second shooting victim involved has not been identified and was last reported to be in critical condition.


It all started around 12:57 a.m., Tuesday when police got a call from someone who said that his friend had been shot and that the shooter drove off in a vehicle with no tail lights. The person then hung up, but police traced the call to Goshen Avenue. When officers arrived, they located blood, but couldn't find the victim.

Police later learned that the person who made the emergency call drove the victim to the hospital.


While investigating the shooting, Jackson, walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.
