Fungal Meningitis Update

A report says the fourth death in Indiana from a fungal meningitis outbreak among patients injected with a recalled steroid occurred in St. Joseph County. The county’s health officer, Doctor Thomas Felger, said yesterday that the victim was a 62-year-old woman. Felger says St. Joseph County has had 11 of Indiana’s 51 confirmed cases. All four deaths have occurred in northern Indiana.
