COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP): Candidates for governor and Ohio's other statewide offices are getting ready to make their final filings before Election Day showing money raised and spent by their campaigns.
State campaign finance reports due Thursday should show how far apart Republican Gov. John Kasich and his Democratic challenger, Cuyahoga County executive Ed FitzGerald, are in the money race headed into the Nov. 4 election. It should also show how they're spending their cash.
Filings also should provide details of a significant shift of resources that FitzGerald said his damaged campaign made to benefit Democrats' overall get-out-the-vote efforts.
Thursday's reports will include contributions and expenditures in the fall races for attorney general, secretary of state, auditor, treasurer and Ohio Supreme Court.
