Fremont Woman Arrested for Biting a Child

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOW): Carolyn Bowdish of Fremont was arrested this past Friday, after biting a 3-year-old girl on the leg, as a form of punishment.

According to Indiana State police, this past June, the injury was noticed by an off-duty Indiana State Police Detective at a family gathering and after speaking with the victim’s father, the Detective contacted both his supervisor and Child Protective Services.

An arrest warrant was then issued by the Steuben County Superior Court for Bowdish on the following charge: 

• Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury (Victim less than 14 years of age by defendant at least 18 years of age), Class D Felony 

Bowdish was taken to the Steuben County Jail and was held on a $5,000 bond.
