Freezing Rain Predicted for Northern Indiana

The National Weather Service is predicting freezing rain and ice to move across Northern Indiana, beginning Sunday afternoon.

It has issued a freezing rain advisory for northwestern Indiana from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday eastern time and for north central Indiana from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The freezing rain advisory for other parts of northern Indiana extends from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday. It includes the cities of Fort Wayne, Michigan City, South Bend, Logansport, and Marion.

The folks with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) are monitoring the evolving weather and say teams will adjust planned deployment of manpower, trucks and materials as appropriate to address the forecast.
